I’ll be on a terrific panel of short story writers at the Association of Writers & Writing Programs Conference (AWP) in Chicago (March 18-20, 2027).

Title: Publishing the Short Story Collection: From Submission to Promoting Your Work Description: These authors, who have also published or produced other long forms—novels, novellas, plays, essay collections, academic books—will discuss the learning curve of publishing a story collection. From submitting to university presses or to competitions, or to indies or the Big Four, we’ll explore strategies of putting together and pitching your collection, as well as promoting a form often undervalued. We’ll compare notes on our journeys and ask, what did we learn? What do wish we’d known?
